There is no party-line here...just 100% faithfulness to Jesus Christ and the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. Call it, perhaps, the thrill of Orthodoxy.

I am trying to remember why I subscribed to this blog. I'm gay, and have never agreed with the Vatican on their stance on this issue.

Looks like this is a party-line blog.

I'm not party line. I support gay marriage (your use of the word "homosexual" is common...you don't want to lend any credence that we are more than just a sexual phenomenon).

Don't worry. I'm leaving now.

daily communicative ways needed and strengthen my catholic faith in HIM. Daily read my Bible, treat and consider God as my closest friend that I can tell everything, not matter good or bad things I've done, thought in my daily activity. Pray without cease, and I've got my favourite word... Forever Rely On God (FROG). God Bless.

I agree with you on this one. However, now that the bill has been passed, I think social conservatives are in a fluster right now due to their defeat. In this case, the right thing to do would be just to love the sinner and hate the sin, as we always have done and alert other social conservatives to avoid violent tendencies.

You see, the reason why this is happening is that not enough orthodox priests/pastors (depending on the denomination) are preaching about what to do with GLBT (gay, lesbian, bi-sex, and transgender) people! So, I really think that it has to start at the parish level so that other legislation based on gay hate crimes doesn't have to come about due to the decrease in violence and the fact that we are opposing such measures!

And what would be a "win" for them would then be an actual "win" for us and the Truth of Jesus Christ.

The Church chooses Priests from amongst Celibates.

Its wrong to say that a person sacrifices anything...

The Married priests movement is about Priests, Married men who discern a calling for both a married and priestly state of life. ( I am a part of it ...But not the spokesperson..So if any misrepresentation...I am sorry ;)

Which is not wrong in any sense

The Bible, Church History, Theology etc. are all compatible ....

Then whats the fuss about...

Thanks for the guide. I deeply regret in leaving the Catholic Church early this year but given a chance to return I will never leave it again and will instead “defend” it against known anti catholic groups such as the Iglesia ni Cristo (of Felix Manalo) & Iglesia ng DIOS (of Eliseo Soriano) in my home country the Philippines..

Thank you Kurt for taking the time to respond. It's always good to hear from a fellow Christian. We clearly have some differences, but I would pray that love and charity would always reign when two Christians are engaging each other. As Catholics and Baptists alike, we believe that Holy Scripture is the inspired Word of God. I also appreciate that many non-Catholic Christians believe that Scripture alone is the only guide for Christians.

I would challenge you Kurt to look deeper into history and find out why the King James Bible has less books than the Catholic one. I'd also add that nowhere in the Bible does is state that the "Bible alone is enough." We'd all agree that the Bible did not fall from the sky into people's hands. It had, of course, to be assembled and there needed to be an authority to decide which writings were inspired, and which weren't. That visible, universal authority that did this was the Catholic Church.

Certainly you would agree that your congregation wasn't around during the Fourth century when, what now call the Bible, was assembled for the Christian faithful. Only a visible, unified and universal authority under the guidance of the Holy Spirit could have known what was in, and what was out. And that leads us to another point, and that's the realty that for several centuries Christians went about being Christians without having a Bible to hold up and say, "The Bible says..." So how did they know how to live? The Church and the Sacred Tradition handed down orally from the Apostles informed them. We could go on and on....

Thank you so much Kurt!

Jay,

Thank you for your comment...Go to your local Catholic Parish, make an appointment to see the priest and explain exactly what happened; he will then help reconcile you back with the Church...What a grace that you recognize the one, holy, apostolic and Catholic Church - welcome home!

I left the Catholic Church early this year and joined a congregation which I thought was a True Christian church. Now I quit this congregation last month and wishing to re-join the Catholic Church. Please guide me how can I return to the Catholic Church.

I agree with you completely. The bible is very clear in Genesis that man shall leave his father and mother do be joined to his wife...It does not say joined to his husband... As true Christians, we need to write our congressmen (Senators especially) and let them know we are against any legislation that allows homosexual marriage in the U.S.
